What happens when the doodle jumps on its own?

Place platforms to guide the Amazing Goob on their journey home! Inspired by Doodle Jump, The Amazing Goob is a submission to GMTK's 2023 48-hour game jam. The theme was Role Reversal and we chose to interpret this reversal as swapping the player's role from character to guide. Our inspiration came from Doodle Jump and instead of controlling the character, the player now controls the environment by placing platforms. How long can you last as you help Goob travel across the sky?

For this game jam, I worked as a UI designer and developer. Some of my contributions include:

• Creating HUD mockups
• Directing visual direction
• Creating UI assets in Illustrator and Clip Studio Paint
• Developing the title screen and its associated pages in Godot
• Implementing the pause screen with fullscreen and audio options
• Illustrating the title illustration
• Using Figjam to brainstorm remotely with a team of 6
